Terms and Conditions

Intrastate

  1. Deposit: We may ask for a deposit of up to 10% of your estimated total — no more than $100.00 — when you book. We apply that deposit to your final bill.
  2. Cancellation: You can reschedule for free if you contact us more than 48 hours before your move. If you cancel within 48 hours, a $75.00 cancellation fee applies.
  3. Billing and Travel: We start billing when our crew arrives at your home and stop when we finish unloading. All moves have a 2-hour minimum charge. We also charge a travel fee based on distance — usually $2.00 to $4.00 per mile — which we list in your quote.
  4. What We Will Do: We handle the specific services listed in your estimate or service order — such as loading, unloading, driving, packing, unpacking, and furniture assembly. Anything not on that list — including packing materials, specialty equipment, or storage — may be billed separately.
  5. Special and High-Value Items: Before your move, tell us if you have safes, pianos, gun safes, pool tables, marble or glass items, artwork, antiques, or anything oversized, very heavy, or especially valuable. These may require extra labor, equipment, or scheduling, and may cost more. We may decline to move any item not disclosed in advance.
  6. Your Responsibilities: Please have everything ready before the crew arrives, unless you paid for packing. You are responsible for arranging parking, elevator access, building approvals, and gate entry. Make sure appliances and electronics are disconnected unless we agreed in writing to handle that. Point out any fragile or high-value items, and do a final walkthrough before the crew leaves. We are not responsible for damage to items you packed yourself, or for delays caused by lack of preparation on your end.
  7. Delays and Extra Charges: We may charge extra if your move takes longer because of stairs, long distances between the truck and your door, elevator waits, gate delays, bad weather, or job details that differed from what you told us at booking. This also applies to delays beyond our reasonable control. We want to ensure your property is protected and safely transported, which may require additional materials and labor.
  8. Items We Will Not Move: We will not transport hazardous materials, flammables, explosives, ammunition, unsecured firearms, propane tanks, illegal substances, perishable food, or any item that is unsafe or illegal to move.
  9. Payment: Your full balance is due when we finish, unless we agreed otherwise in writing. Accepted payment methods are listed in your estimate, invoice, or service confirmation. If payment is not made on time, we may pursue collection and recover related costs as permitted by law.
  10. Our Right to Stop Work: We may refuse or stop service if conditions are unsafe, unlawful, or significantly different from what you described at booking — for example, a structural hazard, an aggressive animal, blocked access, serious sanitation concerns, or items that go beyond ordinary household moving.
  11. Claims for Loss or Damage: If something is lost or damaged, notify us in writing within 15 days of your delivery date. Keep the item available for inspection, and include photos or other documentation if you have them. Claims submitted after 15 days may be denied.
  12. Estimates: Unless your estimate is specifically marked "binding" in writing, it is an approximation. Your final charge depends on actual time worked, distance, access conditions, materials used, and the actual services and inventory on move day.
  13. Changes to This Agreement: Verbal statements from any crew member or representative do not change these Terms. Any change, waiver, or added service must be confirmed in writing by Clear Course Moving LLC.
  14. Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. Any legal action related to these Terms must be filed in Maricopa County, Arizona, and both parties agree to that jurisdiction and venue.
  15. Dispute Resolution: If a dispute comes up, both parties agree to try to resolve it informally within 15 days of written notice. If that does not work, the dispute goes to binding arbitration through the American Arbitration Association (Consumer Arbitration Rules) in Maricopa County, Arizona. Either party may still seek emergency relief from a court. The party that prevails may recover reasonable attorneys' fees under A.R.S. § 12-341.01.
  16. Arizona Intrastate Carrier; Federal Law: We operate as an intrastate household goods carrier within Arizona. Federal moving regulations (FMCSA rules under 49 U.S.C. §§ 13701-14916) do not apply to moves that stay within Arizona. If a move crosses state lines, federal rules will apply to that move and this agreement will be updated accordingly. The federal "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move" booklet is not required for in-state moves.
